About Lucy's Sheep Camp
Lucy’s Sheep Camp was named after a sassy, strong woman known as
“The Sheep Queen of Wyoming.” Lucy Morrison Moore homesteaded
her large sheep ranch on Copper Mountain which is where my family
now ranches. The legend is that Lucy was a very tough,
independent woman who overcame many things in order to hang
onto her sheep herd.
I found Lucy’s history and spirit to be very
inspirational and, along
with the connection to the land, wanted
to honor her and the history of sheep in Wyoming. This land, when
taken care of, produces grass, wildflowers, good cattle
and fat, woolly sheep.
